    The scar on the lower half of the arm near the elbow seems like a normal occurrence to many Kenyans, but its bearers do not often think about its significance. This scar, which normally forms a few weeks after administration, is a sign of one’s reception of the Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccine, which protects its bearer from the claws of the dreaded Tuberculosis (TB) disease from a young age.
