AfyaInfo was a USAID-funded project that sought to respond to the needs identified by the Government of Kenya for a strong, unified National Health Information System (NHIS).
Through a consortium led by Abt Associates, the project was involved in the development of an integrated web-based, country-owned NHIS, the first of its kind in Africa, while building awareness on the importance of information use, increasing demand for information, and strengthening human resource capabilities in learning and knowledge management at individual, organisational and sector level.
In this project, CHS supported the capacity building of Health Information System (HIS) users in Kenya through the development of a quality assurance model for HIS trainings and provision of mentorship and technical support to data managers. CHS also supported learning and knowledge management efforts.
CHS engagement in the AfyaInfo project ended in 2015.
