SHINDA is a five-year HIV prevention, care and treatment program funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
SHINDA is a Swahili word meaning ‘win’, a project name that shows the CHS commitment towards ‘winning against HIV/AIDS by achieving epidemic control’ in this high burden county.
The SHINDA project will see CHS support the Siaya County Health Department continue and expand HIV service delivery specifically:
- Comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment
- Evidence-guided practical strategies to ensure quality
- Improve yield and retention
- Sustainable county HIV service delivery
This work will be carried out in partnership with CDC, the Siaya County Department of Health and Matibabu Foundation.
